Planned and revised syllabuses for Graphic Design, Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking sections of the Studio Art program. Responsible for re-structuring the Design Lab, Painting Studio and Woodshop.

Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
Adjunct Faculty 2002–2011

Planned syllabus and lectures for all classes in Communication Design. Emphasis on conceptual design within editorial design and marketing structures, while real world applications are explored. Principal focus is placed on developing student relationships with design and the business world with concentrations in both historic and contemporary viewpoints. Classes include Introduction to Design, Publication Design, Typography and Portfolio Seminar. Studio Classes-Foundations.

ArtsQuest Instructor: Photo Design Program, A work-study program for At Risk Youth in Photography and Graphic Design with a central focus and positive life decisions and productive work habits.

Curriculum Development

Typography and Information Design: This course was initiated by my own experience in direct relation to the needs of the students. The study of typographic fundamentals is necessary as a base for communication arts students. A syllabus was created that would investigate typographic design as rhetoric, information, and artwork. Along with a strong historic analysis, current type revivals are thoroughly explored.

Portfolio Seminar: I was chosen to develop this new course within the existing curriculum. It's purpose being to enable senior level students to enter the field of their chosen discipline with the preparation, knowledge, and understanding of how to present themselves as capable creative professionals.
A review of each students work is given along with new assignments with the purpose of developing a cohesive visual language.

Honors Panelist: Upon request, for numerous honor student applicants.

Senior Portfolio Review Panelist: Part of a group of select professional reviewers of graduating student portfolios.

Advisement: Throughout my teaching career I have taken a considerable role in advising students in both preparation for entering the workplace, and job searching. I have been contacted by art directors and human resources professionals for recommendations to fill positions for interns and full time designers. I have also provided letters for graduate applicants.
